Moheera Athar, O.D.

Dr. Athar is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Loyola University Chicago and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in 2023. She went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care, where she gained advanced training in managing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other complex eye conditions.

During residency, Dr. Athar also served as a clinical attending at the Illinois College of Optometry, precepting third- and fourth-year students in the Primary Care and Urgent Care clinics. She has authored multiple publications and presented at national optometry conferences.

Dr. Athar earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA).

She currently lives in Biddeford, Maine and enjoys hiking and trying new restaurants and cafes. Dr. Athar sees patients in both the Kennebunk and Sanford offices and is currently accepting new patients.
